Hu Lancheng 1906-

Hu was a littérateur, editor and romancer during the time of the Nanjing puppet government in wartime China. From 1944 to 1947 he was the common-law husband of Eileen Chang. He is perhaps best known for his Jinsheng, jinshi[This life, these times] (1959). He was taken to Taiwan by the Nationalist government in retreat in 1949.
