Yang Wanli ·¨¸U¨½ 1127-1206
Important poet of the early Southern Song dynasty, was born in Jishui, in present-day Jiangxi province. Yang served in a number of minor official posts after obtaining his jinshi degree in 1154. In terms of his poetic development, he began by imitating the Jiangxi School of poetry, but eventually developed his own style. He produced many pieces dealing with nature. His extant works include 133 juan of poems and other writings collected in Chengzhai ji ¸ÛÂN¶° [Collected works of Yang Wanli].
